Terms of Use

Last updated 27 September 2026

These terms govern your use of somewhere (“the app”, “we”, “us”) — the iOS app, its share extension, and this website. By using the app or subscribing to somewhere Plus, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the app.

The service

somewhere lets you save places from social media posts (Instagram, TikTok, Threads) to a personal map, organise them into collections, and optionally sync them across devices via an account. We may change or discontinue features at any time; we’ll try to give notice for anything that removes data you’ve already saved.

Accounts

Creating an account is optional. If you create one, you’re responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

somewhere Plus — subscriptions

somewhere Plus is an auto-renewing subscription, offered monthly or yearly, with a 7-day free trial on both. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, you’ll be charged the plan’s price at the end of the trial, and again at the start of each renewal period, at the price shown at the time of purchase.

If you subscribe through the App Store: your purchase is billed by Apple, renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and is managed entirely through your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). We have no access to your payment details and cannot process refunds directly — refund requests go through Apple.

If you subscribe through this website: your purchase is billed by Stripe, on our behalf, and renews automatically until you cancel. You can manage or cancel a web subscription from the link in your purchase confirmation email, or by contacting privacy@somewheremap.app.

Prices may vary by region and are shown before you confirm a purchase. We may change prices for future billing periods; where required, we’ll notify you in advance.

Acceptable use

Use the app only for its intended purpose of saving and organising places. Don’t use it to violate a platform’s (Instagram, TikTok, Threads) own terms, to infringe someone else’s rights, or to attempt to access another user’s account or data.

Your content

You own the places, notes, and collections you save. By syncing them to your account, you give us permission to store and transmit that data solely to provide the service — to sync it across your own devices and display it back to you. We don’t claim ownership of it, and we don’t use it for anything beyond running the app; see our Privacy Policy for the full detail.

Third-party content and services

Saved posts link back to content on Instagram, TikTok, or Threads, which we don’t control and aren’t responsible for. Place search results come from Google’s Places API and are subject to Google’s own accuracy and availability. We aren’t responsible for the accuracy of a place’s location, hours, or existence — always verify before you travel.

Disclaimers

The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that a post will always resolve to the correct place. To the extent permitted by law, we’re not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

Termination

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time (Account → Delete account, or by emailing privacy@somewheremap.app). We may suspend or terminate access for use that violates these terms.

Changes to these terms

If we make a material change, we’ll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
